GRATIAN ALICE NUGENT (nee: MacRae), age 86, of Olmsted Falls, OH, passed away on June 15, 2015. Married July 16, 1956, she was the beloved wife of the late Richard Graul Nugent. Born October 5, 1928 to the late Donald Greene and Hazel Crooks MacRae and preceded in death by her brother, Col. Donald Greene MacRae II.

Her life was dedicated to the mastery, promotion, and philanthropy of the musical arts. During her 35 year tenure as the Music Director and Organist at the Olmsted Community Church, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Music from Cleveland State University. In 2000, she was appointed Director of Music Emeritus by O.C.C. and was Commissioned Minister of Music by the Western Reserve Association- Ohio Conference United Church of Christ. She wrote columns for and was a member of the Scholarship Committee with the American Guild of Organists. One of her life’s greatest satisfactions was teaching piano and pipe organ.

She is survived by son Ted Richard (Athena); daughter Tasha; grandsons Anthony, Brian, and Cory; granddaughter Brittany; great grandchildren Nicolai, Austin, and Andrew.

The void left by her passing will be felt not only by family, but also by those whom experienced her emotionally heartfelt musical expression, exceptional positive attitude, and unwavering encouragement.

Memorial service to be held at The Olmsted Community Church, 7853 Main St., Olmsted Falls, OH on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 am.
