David Hunt

David Hunt, age 75, of Peninsula, OH passed away on May 14, 2026. Born in Akron, OH, David’s life was one marked by his deep faith, devotion to family, and a commitment to serving others. David’s career journey began as a Tool and Die Makers, and he eventually retired as a Project Engineer for Paxxal. His technical expertise and unwavering dedication were evident in every role he held. Alongside his professional accomplishments, David was a man of great faith, graduating from Faith Fellowship’s Hosanna Bible Training Center in Macedonia, OH. He was an ordained minister and also earned a certificate in Christian Counseling from the North Coast Family Foundation, where he passionately served others through his knowledge and compassion. David’s love for God was a guiding force througout his life. For 32 years, he and his wife, Joyce, taught children’s church together, instilling values of faith and kindness in countless young hearts. Their ministry extended to the Lorain Correctional and Rehabilitation Prison, where they worked to bring the message of hope and salvation to those in need. David was always eager to help others understand the love and teachings of Jesus, and he had the privilege of leading many to a life-changing relationship with Christ. In his personal life, David was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, and his love for his wife, Joyce, was unwavering. His hobbies reflected his deep connection to both nature and spirituality, with daily Bible readings, listening to Christian music and podcasts, and taking hikes in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. A world traveler, David’s experiences took him far and wide. He worked on a project in China and journeyed to the Holy Land with his church, where his faith was further deepened. He also went on ission trips to Jamaica and Ukraine, where he had the opportunity to serve others and share the message of Christ. David will be remembered for his servant heart, dedication to God and his family, and his tireless efforts to spread love and understanding. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness and a deep commitment to helping others. David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joyce Hunt; children, Kevin Hunt, Kyle Hunt. (Angie), Kelly Hunt (Craig), Michael Kostic, Sarah Weis (Brandon), Christopher Kostic (Alice), grandchildren, Ashley Hunt, Christopher Hunt (Megan), Alexander Hunt, Sydney Hunt, Kyah Newhouse, Jeremiah Newhouse, Daisy Newhouse, Luna Newhouse, Abby Weis, Jessie Weis, Riley Weis, Roczen Weis, Hans Weis, Arvin Weis, Oaklie Weis, Blair Kostic, Rosalyn Kostic, great-grandchildren Merritt Hunt and Nadine Hunt and many other loving family members and friends. A celebration of David’s life was held in the Cuyahoga National Park for the immediate family.
