Jeanette Batey

Jeanette (nee Cataldi) Batey, the beloved and respected matriarch of her little family passed on March 7, 2021.? Those shoes can never be filled. Though her children and grandchildren will never again hear the phrase "let me see your head," each time they find themselves doing something they shouldn't, as sometimes is the case for everyone, those words will echo inside their mind.? Jeanette's legacy is her children and grandchildren whom she was so proud of.? Jeanette loved her children and grandchildren with a fierceness that surpassed unconditional.? Every moment Jeanette's family spent with her contained lessons for life, but in the end, the biggest lesson of all was to be a good person.? This lesson did not come just in words, but rather by example and through deeds.If you were a part of her world, you knew her kindness and generosity had no bounds.? Jeanette was a very hard worker, oftentimes holding two to three jobs to support her children and help them as they raised her grandchildren.? She even helped many of their friends throughout the years.? For over 20 years, she worked at Third Federal.? She genuinely cared about her regular customers ?? always making sure to go the extra mile to help them, checking on the elderly customers when they stopped coming into the bank, attending services when they were gone; because her kindness extended past her family and close friends.? That is what it meant to Jeanette to be a good person.? Do what you can, for who you can, when you can with no expectations.Jeanette was born in Cleveland on August 4, 1956 and remained in the area for her entire life.? She is preceded in death by her parents Geraldo and Patricia (nee Sauro) Cataldi and her son Gerald Thompson.? She leaves behind her husband of over twenty years, Paul; her daughter Heather (Stephen) Early; her son Kenneth (Stacy) Thompson; her grandchildren Meghan Kuzminski, Andrew Feiler, Anthony Thompson, Dominik Hatfield, Madison Thompson, Kimberly Thompson, Logan Hatfield, Savannah Thompson, and Bryland Collier; her dear aunts Frances Provenzano, Italia Cataldi of Italy, and Virginia Jorgenson of Tennessee; her cousin Fiorella Zummo who selflessly assisted her during her illness; and many cousins, godchildren and close friends.A VISITATION will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the YURCH FUNERAL HOME, 5618 Broadview Road, Parma, OH 44134; where the MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held, immediately following the visitation.
