Frank J. Lima, 67, of Fairview Park, OH passed into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2019. He died of symptoms associated with COPD due to lifelong cigarette smoking.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 21 at 10am at Journey Church, Avon Campus, 995 Center Rd. Avon, Ohio 44011.

Frank is survived by his parents, Fred & Nancy Lima. Beloved husband to Patty Lima. Father to Frank S. Lima (deceased), Fred A. Lima, Nicole Salerno (Fabio) and Grace Nazel (Jameson). Cherished grandfather to Dominic, Gabriella, Vincenzo, Alexander, Sofia, Abigail, Gianni, Luca and Nora. Brother to Gail Lima-Richmond, Sue Fitch (deceased), Mary Ann Grassia (Tony), Mickey, Fred Jr. (Laura), Jerry (Judy), Tony, Nancy Higgins (Rich), Patrick (Terry), Julie Stolar (Mike). His many nieces & nephews, great-nieces and nephews and the mutt, Harley.

A special thank you to friends and family who gave their time and love to help. Especially Pastor Paul Grodell whose faith and prayers provided comfort to Frank, Patty and his family. And to Frank’s wife, Patty, for her immeasurable and constant care.

Finally, in honor of Frank’s legacy, we hope you’ll be encouraged to quit smoking or using any tobacco products. They are not worth the price paid by diminishing quality of life, dying young and missing out on time with family. The ramifications of the smoking addiction will rob your body of being able to perform the simplest of tasks.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you would consider a donation to the Outreach Program at Journey Church.

When I’m Gone
When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done,
Forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I’ve had loads of fun.

Forget that I have stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought
Some hard battles and won,
Ere the close of the day.

Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day,
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay

And come in the evening
When the sun points the sky in the West,
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.

  5. Nancy Lima Higgins, Frank's Sister #4 says:

To my dear older Brother Frank; who can say that we’ve walked in another’s shoes or understand what another has gone thru in suffering. .

I love you Frank today. I loved you when you held my hand as a little kid. I loved your toughness, your strength, your smile that surprised itself because after all, God is great, and what he made, and whom he made and gave to you are awesome! Especially Frankie Freddy Nicole Grace and all the lovely grandkids, wow!! And all friends near & far.
Thank you for sharing the Joy of the message of being “born again’ on the beginning of my own spiritual journey , when I was seeking forgiveness and renewal because I knew I was a sinner, etc. Thank you, because you helped me find the starting point of the answer, and we shared that joy of uncovering that!
I feel the Joy of life in your honor and memory. Sure there were tough things, but as long as we relish and hang onto the good, the fun and joys of laughing, of children and their gifts of being alive for the whole world to see & enjoy, we are and must continue moving forward in Love!

God said when you have tribulations, not if, and so it goes.
In Italian; Cosi il del mondo.

May we all remember 1Corinthians 13 in all its fullness. God’s Commandments are there for us as a GIFT of His amazing love, to keep us out of trouble, and help us move out of sadness or woeful moments. And of course pain is real. But I love that His word says” Be joyful always! And again I say, Rejoice!

I will choose to stick with that! May you rest in peace until Jesus comes back and of course we want to go home with Him to Heaven.

By the way, You have some amazing women in your life! A fragrant bouquet!

The Belle’s of Ireland, and the purple flowers coupled with some blue hydrangeas from my own garden in TN, … I will set before you are symbols from me & my son’s, & Rich to you and the hope of and for the circle of our family. Though with many differences, yet united in our uniqueness of love to you, holding hands my sister’s, our brothers, & Mom & Dad who love you so as we all try letting you go.
