Frederick J. Van Wye

Frederick J. Van Wye, age 85, passed away January 24, 2017 peacefully with family at his side. Born in Warren, Ohio on March 22, 1931; Graduated from Mineral Ridge High School in 1949; Married his sweetheart on June 2, 1951; Served as Staff Sergeant at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina from 1951 to 1955. Following his military service, Fred continued his career in the grocery industry as the opening Manager of Pick-N-Pay (Finast) in Berea, working his way up to the executive offices of First National Supermarkets, where he retired in 1991. Fred enjoyed his retirement years in Alliance, Ohio spending quality time with family, mentoring and helping others with his Shaklee business, traveling the world, golfing and bowling. An avid sports fan, Fred enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns and Mount Union football games.

Beloved husband to Rose (nee Jesionek) for 65 years. He will be greatly missed by his children Steve (Barb), Jeanne Nageotte (Terry), Anne Siloy (Doug), and Susie Wodarczyk (Larry); grandchildren Tracey (Jeremy), Robin (Tomek), Amie (Glen), Mike (Dawn), Matt (Kandace), Megan (Bob), Mandy (Nick), Dan (Melissa), Brooke, Tom (Taylor), Christa and Kevin; Great-grandchildren Jack, Lauren, Colson, Gracie, Mason, Noah, Ella, and Isaiah, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Crowne Plaza located at 7230 Engle Road in Middleburg Hts., Ohio on Friday, February 10th from 6-8pm, and Saturday, February 11th from 4-6pm, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to ShakleeCares.org, or Hospice Services of SW General at FredVanWye.com.
