Geraldine “Gerri” Rita Ackerman, loving wife, mother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at age 76. Her family was blessed with the opportunity to surround her in her final days.

Gerri was born August 30, 1943 in the Cincinnati area, Ohio to Charles and Gloria Alderman. She met her husband of almost 57 years, Bob Ackerman, at Fairview High School, where they became high school sweethearts and have remained ever since.

Gerri, who was well known for her kindness, generosity, and positive spirit, enjoyed careers at the Gas Company, United Airlines (where she retired after 34 years), and Don’s Pomeroy House. She enjoyed traveling worldwide and instilled a love of travel in each of her daughters from a young age. She also enjoyed date nights with Bob, shopping (especially with her sister, Judy), watching her favorite game shows, and lunching with friends. She was passionate about hosting family get-togethers, and brought her loving family together as often as she could, including hosting the most magical, unforgettable Christmas Eve celebrations.

Gerri is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gloria Alderman, and survived by her brothers Chuck, William and Timothy (Irene), sister, Judy (Richard), husband, Robert, daughters Cherri, Sandra (Paul), and Julie, grandchildren Brandon, Jessica (Chris), Bryan, Justin (Sarah), and Emily, and greatgrandchildren Kaydence, Kyler, Kennedy, Katavia, and Kate.
