Howard Heuer, aged 58, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 following a battle with advanced stage pancreatic cancer at the Hospice of the Western Reserve. He was born to Arthur Heuer and Roberta Feinstein on March 26, 1960 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
He leaves behind his wife of thirty years, Liz; daughter Tess; son Jon (Lora Murray); grandson Liam; brother Michael (Laura Baxter-Heuer); brother Jimmy (Mary Fran); nieces, nephews, cousins, and both parents.

He had a deep love of cooking, particularly for his family and spent thirty years in the food and beverage industry, working every job from dish washer to management during his career. Originally from Shaker Heights, Howard and his family moved back to Ohio from Michigan in 2011, settling in Painesville. Being a proud veteran and having served his country as a young man in the army from May of 1978 until May of 1981, he began working at the Louis B Stokes VA Hospital in 2013. There, he worked as a supply technician until his untimely death.

Howard was a devoted husband, loving father, dedicated son and brother, and wonderful friend to all who knew him. He had an incredible and quick sense of humor, a deep knowledge of fun facts and practical information that he used equally, great taste in music, television and books, and was a skilled guitar player. Music played perhaps one of the largest roles in his life; in addition to being a simple fan, he enjoyed playing his guitar and discussing artists, bands, individual songs, and their cultural impact with anyone that would listen. For Howard, however, the true passion and joy of his life was his family.

From the time that they met Howard and Liz were inseparable; their love and connection was palpable to everyone they encountered and they enjoyed a deep and true love every single day of their thirty-two years together. He was an incredible father to his two children in every way who was always there to share a joke, laugh, or piece of advice, offer a reassuring hug, coach a roller hockey team, or just sit and spend time together. He never missed a moment to tell his children how much he loved them and how proud of them he was; his role as a father was one he cherished and excelled at. Before his death, he loved every moment of being a new grandfather.

Howard’s family and friends will be gathering to celebrate his life Saturday, December 1st, at the Steele Mansion Inn located in Painesville, Ohio from 1:00-5:00.
