John Martin Shields

Shields 2

In loving memory of our father, who passed away May 22, 2019 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Joann for 61 years. Cherished father to Stephanie Weber [Walt], Lee Anne Roth [Ron], Poppy to grandson Michael Roth [Samantha].

His greatest joys in life were his grandson Michael and his many rescued pets. He always had an open door for strays and fur babies in need.

He taught us all how to garden and to cherish nature and its abundant beauty. His legacy will live on through his many beautiful landscape paintings and his amazing wood turnings. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and fought during WWII and the Korean War.

He will receive full military honors at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where he and mom will be laid to rest June 19, 2019 at 2:30 pm. A celebration of his and our mom’s life will be held at 4:30 pm at Michaels Café, 10071 Darrow Road in Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 for friends and family.

Thank you dad for always providing for us and for giving us such a wonderful loving family and all the great memories. We will miss and love you, till we meet you, mom and all our animals on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
