John Matej

John Matej entered into rest October 22, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne (nee DeParse). Father of Michael (Eva) Matej, John (Carol) Matej, James (Judith) Matej and Mary Hargis (Douglas Sr.) Brother to Margret (Joseph) Polinsky (Deceased) Joseph Matej (Deceased) and Robert (Dolores) Matej. Grandfather of 14, Great Grandfather of 18.

Proud United States Navy Veteran of World War II and Retired Greater Cleveland Firefighter. He leaves behind an extended family and friends who have wonderful memories of him.

John will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with a small service at a later date, A life member of the American Legion, the family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Gifts of the Yanks, care of the American Legion Post 91 Berea, Ohio.
