Our dear brother, uncle, and friend Klaus P. Smith of Strongsville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the age of 66.
Klaus was born on June 28, 1955 in Rodalben, Germany to Auguste Christine (nee Snehotta) and US Army SSG Eugene Kenneth Smith. He is survived by his sisters Brigette (George) BeVier, Ann Schreyer, Karen Sisneros, and Melisa (Greg) Stilley, cousin Dieter (Martha) Snehotta, nieces and nephews Daniel, Katrina, Nicholas, Barbara, Jill, Frank, Gene, Emily, Hailey, Ian, Lindsey, and Bryan, many grandnieces and grandnephews, Uncles Bill (Florence) and Pete (Doris) Smith and family from Pennsylvania and Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt Hilde Snehotta, his sister Connie (Robin) Blackwell, and his beloved Blue.
As a son in a military family, Klaus spent his early years traveling before settling in Ohio where he was a resident of Columbia Station for over 25 years. Klaus was a Harley and Corvette man, and a lifelong truck driver who loved music, playing his guitar, cooking, and being with his kitties Harley and Crybaby. His laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and his many dear friends. No funeral services will be held at this time, however, a memorial Celebration of Life is planned for the future with details forthcoming.
