KARAS

Kristine Karas (nee Hydzik) age 72 of Parma, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 16, 1950 in Czluchow, Poland to Wladyslaw and Anna Hydzik. Kristine was 1 of 9 children – including Roman, Stanislaw, Zbyszek, Jan, Marian, Danuta, Henryk, and Renata. She attended school in Slupsk, where she was a student of architecture.

Kristine immigrated to The United States in May of 1972. On the day she arrived in Montreal, Canada, she met Roman Karas. They were married on December 2, 1972 in Cleveland – and celebrated their 50th anniversary just a few weeks before her passing. They had three sons: David, Timothy, and Bryan.

Kristine was a devoted wife, mother, amazing grandmother, sister, friend, and follower of Jesus. She loved the beach, gardening, sewing, knitting, calligraphy, fishing, camping and especially travel – visiting over 30 countries with Roman. Her life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and supported by rich communities of family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Roman – children: David (Jessica), Timothy (Ariel), and Bryan – grandchildren: Grace (16), Hudson (15), Owen (11), Amani (7), Everest (6), and Inez (8 months) – brothers: Roman, Stanislaw, Jan, Marian and Henryk – her sister Renata – and so many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Kristine’s life will be held at Bethel Christian Church (12901 West Pleasant Valley Road in Parma, Ohio) on January 8, 2023 at 4:30PM. Visitation begins at 3:00PM. A reception will follow the service.

    Roman, Don & I are so sorry to hear the Kristine has died. I only met her in person once, but her sweet personality confirmed what you had often told me about her. I remember your telling about the times you laughed together and loved each other. You are so proud to be her husband, Roman!
