Marian Johnson, age 66 of Sears, Michigan and formerly of North Branch passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born May 28th, 1955 in Newberry, Michigan to Harold (Evelyn) Van Zoeren and Mary (Walter) Strauser. She is survived by her lifelong soulmate and husband of 48 years, David Johnson, her three children: Jeremiah (Michele) Johnson, Amanda (LC) Johnson, Heidi (Lucas) Gyomory, two grandsons Ryan and Easton Gyomory, and two sister Diana (Harry Jr.) Fultz, and Barbara Novak and many nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time in her quilt barn crafting for her loved one. She loved sharing her passion of gardening and cooking and spending time on river with her family and friends. She had a way of welcoming everyone into her home and heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Mary Strauser, father: Harold Van Zoeren, step-mother: Evelyn Van Zoeren, step-father: Walter Strauser, step brothers: Michael Novak, Bernie Novak, Paul Novak, and Mark McDermaid.

A memorial and celebration of Marian’s life will take place up at the cabin on July 10th, 2021 at 12:00pm.

    So sorry to hear this, what a wonderful lady she was. I remember when she talked my dad through “how to deal with girls starting their periods” when they worked together in Lapeer. (As a single dad, he appreciated that) She was a blessing. Keeping you all in my prayers.
