Norma G. Pesicek

3 Burning Candles

Norma Pesicek, age 82, passed away on November 14, 2017.

Norma was born on December 8, 1934, in Copeland, Kansas to Omer Glenn Schofield (d.o.d. September 27, 1935) and Stella (Feuers) Schofield-Rodhe (d.o.d. July 22, 1980).

In 1936 the family moved to Portage County. Norma attended the Ravenna Schools and graduated from Bohecker’s Business College. Her first secretarial job was as a legal secretary.

Norma was a legal secretary for many years. She often said, “The law gets into your blood.” She enjoyed helping the clients “in her small way.” She was a former member of The Federated Democratic Women of Portage County, Business and Professional Women’s Club of Ravenna. For many years she played golf in the Tuesday and Friday Night Ladies Golf Leagues of the Kent State University Golf Course. She loved the game of golf and equated it with life, “Some days you are good and some days you WISHED you were good.”

Norma is survived by her children, the joys of her life:

(1) Glenn (Robyn) Pesicek of Coral Springs, Florida; their children, Kristen , Scot (Yen) and Gregory (Amanda), their sons, Braxton and Holden;

(2) Jami Lou (Terry) Ross of Cooper City, Florida; their son, Zachary;

(3) James E. Pesicek, Jr. of Ravenna, Ohio; his sons, Brandon (Mischa), Tyler and Trevor ; and (4) Michael J. Pesicek of Garrettsville, Ohio; his children, Justin (Stephanie), Brian (Patty), their sons, Owen and Reid; and Brittany Lynn (Brad) Mast, and their son, Gavin.

She is also survived by her step-sister, Sherely Ann (Rodhe) Sears of Ravenna, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews, all of which she loved very much.

Norma was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Lee Pesicek; her granddaughter, Tera Marie Ross; her brothers, Harold Glenn Schofield, Howard J. Schofield, Robert C. Schofield, Charles W. Schofield (in the Battle of the Bulge, WWII) and brother-in-law, James Sears.

Her last wishes are that there be no calling hours or funeral. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that any donations be made to the University Hospitals Hospice Care Center in her name.
