Thomas Joseph Flanagan, III, died peacefully at home with family and friends, May 24, 2020.

Tommy’s greatest accomplishments cannot be measured in awards or dollars or achievements. Rather, they are measured by his kindness, empathy, generosity and service to others. He touched countless lives through the 12 Steps, providing support to many.

He was born February 9, 1934 in Newark NJ to Thomas J. Flanagan JR. And Helen (née McEvoy).

He is Survived by Wife Karen; daughter, Jennifer; grandson, Johnny; sister, Therese (Justin) McCarthy; sisters-in-law, Jean Magaletta and Deborah (Peter) Davidson; beloved niece, Casey (Danny) Lewis and great niece Miesje Lewis and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tommy was preceded in death by his brother Jerome Paul Flanagan.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and aftermath, a Mass and Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date.

As he was a Korean War Navy Veteran, his ashes will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery when we can have a proper internment.

Donations may be sent to the St. Malachi’s, 2459 Washington Ave Cleveland, OH 44113, or the Scarborough House, 2430 West 10th St, Cleveland, oh 44113.

Karen and Tommy would be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary May 27, 2020.
Love and light to all!

What lovely memories we shared! From your beautiful wedding thru class reunions and charade games: from picnics to babies we were so lucky to share them. Tommy with his “Oh so open” Irish face looking at his new wife and later at his baby daughter. Time and circumstance separates the bodies but not the hearts. You are in our thought and prayers.
