William “Bill” Pistor of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday May 5, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on April 5th, 1936, in Kenton, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Pistor.

Bill spent 63 years happily married to the love of his life, LaVerne Pistor nee Lewis until her passing in 2021. Surviving are Bill’s sons, Rick (Julie) Pistor, Ron Pistor, and Randy (Misty) Pistor. Bill was grandpa to Michael (Alex) Carl, Casey (Nick) Vinez, Brittney (Ben) Weinerman, Kyle Pistor, Ryan Pistor, Deven Pistor, Alex Miller, Tori Pistor, and great-grandpa to Haidyn and Luke Vinez, Finnegan, Sebastian and Riley Carl and Savannah Nemastil. Bill served as a father-figure to many, including David Kemp.

Bill was known for his infectious laugh, generosity, and devotion to his family and friends. It brought Bill immense joy to see the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Affectionately known as the fun grandpa, he enjoyed trips in the camper, playing basketball, swimming, and showing them off at work. His grandkids will always remember sitting on the front porch with their grandparents.

Bill’s unmatched work ethic and congenial personality earned him great success in the printing industry. He started his career in 1955 after graduating from Campbell County High School in Northern Kentucky, when he was hired by A B Dick of Cincinnati, Ohio. After 2 years, he was promoted to Sales Manager where he received their esteemed Pacemaker Award 12 out of the 13 years he was eligible. Bill later joined Heidelberg USA as the Marketing Manager for Central and Northern Ohio where he retired after 25 successful years. In 2015, his career was celebrated when he was inducted into to the Graphic Arts Hall of Distinction.

As an avid collector, Bill’s weekends were often spent at antique shows and flea markets. He had a passion for antiques, and over the years accumulated an impressive collection of watches and clocks that he enjoyed restoring. In the evenings, you could find Bill watching Cleveland sports and relaxing with a cigar in hand. He will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his friends, colleagues and family.
