William Walter Slavik of Brecksville, Ohio, age 31, passed away suddenly on September 29th, 2020 from pulmonary complications.    William had Sanfilippo Syndrome, MPSIIIA.  In his early years William was a young man in constant motion and found great inspiration from his friends on PBS such as Barney, the Sesame Street Gang, Bob Ross, and Norm Abram.   He very much enjoyed cheese straight out of the wrapper causing his parents to try different devices to lock the refrigerator door, none of them successful.   He was a loyal Cleveland Indians fan.  He admired golfer Payne Stewart and NBA player Shaquille O’Neal.  More recently William enjoyed trips to the Cleveland Zoo, Medina Fair, Cleveland Metroparks with the Ohio Horsemen’s Council, Tall Ships, Botanical Gardens, and Rice Lake in Canada.  Always welcomed by family and friends, he was quite a happy guy.

William is survived by his parents Lou and Chris Slavik, sister Kat Slavik, Grandfather William (Mary) Slavik, Great Aunt Louise (Doc) Smith, Great Uncle Danny Clancy, Uncles Walter (Angie) Reese, John (Margie) Slavik and Aunt Becky Reese along with numerous cousins.  William was preceded in death by Grandmothers Alice May Reese, Suzanne Slavik, Grandfather Walter Reese and Uncle Teddy (Becky) Reese.

Memorial contributions may be made to National MPS Society, PO Box 14686, Durham, NC 27709-4686 or Team Sanfilippo Foundation, PO Box 144, Sarasota Springs, NY 12866..
