Zacharie Dell Regnier, (age 44) passed away September 4, 2019. He is survived by his father, Michael G. & stepmother, Juliette Regnier of Cleveland Heights, his sister & brother-in-law, Michael Simone & Olaf Mingo (Taos, NM), & stepsister, Meredith Webb (Minneapolis). He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Dell Lorton. Zacharie graduated from Cleveland Heights High School (where he was a talented, enthusiastic member of Heights Choir) & The University of Dayton with a BA in Philosophy. A proud employee of Dave’s Supermarkets, who also operated his own computer tech support and hardware/software troubleshooting business, Zach had previously worked for Banshee Computer Consulting Corp., in Guest Services and Technical Support at the Alcazar, where he lived, and at Teleperformance and the Online Computer Library Center.

A passionate player of fantasy games, as “The Thrasher,” who actually enjoyed ramen noodles; a computer aficionado with an obsession for Robin Williams humor, who buzzed on way too much 70’/80’s television; a question-er with a physicist’s attempt at understanding the universe (hence a lot of Dr. Who, Hubble research & Marvel); a smoldering injustice-hater; a pray-er of grace; and a marcher to a different drummer with a huge, forgiving heart, who’s e-mail “handle” was mchowllives –Zacharie was brought down when the relentless ravages of a 35-year-long disease on his physical body finally took its toll.

May you rest in peace, Z. Our loss is indescribable: “Love you, boy.”

A Memorial & Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 4:00pm with a light reception to follow at the Alcazar, 2450 Derbyshire Rd., Cleveland Hts., Ohio 44106.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Northeast Ohiowww.jdrf.org/neo

This is such unfortunate news to read.
I was just looking up some old RIFTS information and thought about him, had lost contact with him due to some life circumstances. Google brings me here, and this just breaks my heart man.

  8. Patrick Toman says:

My deepest condolences. Zac was the first friend I made at school after my family moved to Cleveland Heights, and was the person who introduced me to fantasy games. I will always have fond memories of our time spent together hanging out, starting from fifth grade all the way on through Heights High and into our college years. He will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.

  9. Kimbrally Regnier says:

To both my uncle and cousin Michael and Michael Simone-even though I hadn’t been in contact with Zacharie for awhile the pain of his loss is hard to accept-I know especially for you both. I will always cherish the memories of our times at the lake especially where an especially curious young boy and man always dragged me and Michael Simone out at night to hunts for whatever lurked out there in the water or along the shores. Also the memories of holidays in Tipton and Cleveland cannot be replaced and I cannot express enough my love for him and you two plus the rest of his family and friends who got to be a part of his life while he was here. Gone but never ever forgotten-I’m glad that Diana and all his other relatives and friends were there to welcome him home. God Bless.

  10. Kemal says:

Walk in Victory my brother. Your passing will be missed and your memory will be kept, always.

  11. Nancy Dubois says:

I remember the summer that awful disease just about took Zach…it was truly a life-long struggle for his health after that. Dianna took such care of him, making sure he ate healthy and wisely. I miss her still! How she must have welcomed her boy home with one of her amazing Diana hugs on September 4. Blessings to all of you who morn his passing.

    Michael Simone and “Mr. Michael,”
I am truly sorry for your loss. Zacharie was an original. I can still hear his voice singing and rapping in our youth group plays and on the way to your family’s lake house. I am praying for you as you grieve.

    Lots of love, Sange

Michael Simone. I’m so sorry about Zachery. . I remember your mother telling me that she didn’t think he would live to be old. She knew how bad the diabetes was taking it’s toll on his body. They are together now. I miss her. So many times I think I need to call and tell her something . I’m sad for you. Love Lana
