Gary W. Polly

Gary W. Polly, 63, passed away suddenly Monday, December 18, 2023. Gary was born July 8, 1960 to Bill and Phyllis (Chaffins) Polly.

Gary was a devoted husband and father. He was a proud member of Bakers and Teamsters Local 507 and was a former volunteer firefighter with the Chatham Township Fire Department. Gary was a multi-gallon blood donor and was a tissue donor through Lifebanc.

Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan (Eberling); children Gus Polly and Sarah (Jeff) Rutherford; grandsons Arthur and Oliver; sisters Pam Mc Grogan and Sandi (Jim) Sellitto; extended family and many friends.

The Polly family will welcome visitors Friday, December 22, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chatham Memorial Hall, 6299 Avon Lake Rd., Spencer, OH 44275. Interment will be private.

    Oh my the memories. I’ll always cherish being at their house growing up, Gary always the big brother, his Sister my Best friend. The house and family that welcomed us all.     Sue, I don’t know Gary very well just through you and when you got married so many yrs ago. It isn’t easy any time the year but now it is even more so. Strength to you and family may you be granted the peace of heart, mind, and soul knowing Gary is in good hands.

    I’m so sorry, Sue, Gus, and Sarah. Gary was my best friend since 4th grade. Even though I lived 1000 or more miles from him for most of my life, we always kept in touch and visited when we could. I only know how empty my heart is, I can’t image how badly you all are hurting.

    So sorry for your loss. The world has lost an Amazing Wonderful person, he was one of my closest friends, I always thought of Gary as my 4th brother.I’ve known Gary since 3rd grade we shared a lot of good times , bad times and what ever life throws at you times.

    Gary was my best friend, and will be missed by so many who are proud to call him their best friend.
    He would do anything for anyone.
    I will miss our late night talks, those shot and a beer in his shop. He will be forever in my memory. Loved him as if he was my brother.
