Survivors: Cherished Husband to Ida Jean (Anselmo) Loving and Cherished Father To Daughters Shelby Crosby (Derrick) and Sabrina and Son Richie (Tracy) Brother to Carol. Beloved Grandfather to Sidney, Derrick Jr, Marrisa, Peyton, Destinee , Antonio, Alexzandrea and Rockie. Beloved Great Grandfather to Braylen and Ka’mari.
Loving Brother and Brother in Law And Caring Uncle to Many who adored him. Preceded in Death By His Parents Harry and Margaret (Ludvic) and Sister Barbara.

Personal Background: Rich was loved by Many, A man of all trades, A Hard worker and a strong Fighter, A Great Conversationalist, who always joked and smiled.

With a contagious Laugh, And a beautiful Caring Soul and Smiling eyes that matched his heart of gold. A Vietnam Veteran Discharged with Many Medals of Honor He was a true Inspiration to Many.

Rich’s Story

Richard Alan Hromadka was born in Cleveland Ohio at St Annes Hospital August 27th 1948, To Harry and Margaret (Ludvic) Hromadka.

His Family moved from Cleveland to Maple Heights, Ohio when he was a young Boy along with his sisters Carol and Barbara,

As a young Boy he showed what a go-getter he was, He took jobs delivering News Papers, Mowing lawns, walking dogs and grooming horses.

Which led into his adult years he never gave up and Kept going to earn money for his family. As a Teenager Rich Loved His Sports and Cars.

He played Baseball for his schools, Football and ran track, Where he also managed a Laundromat, and continued to groom horses to earn Money to buy his dream car a Blue GTO.

Rich Graduated From Maple Heights High School in 1967, Upon Graduating he worked for a short bit and received his Draft Papers for the Vietnam War on Dec 26th 1968. He left for the beginning of his Vietnam Tour, on Jan 23 of 69 and was sent to Fort Lewis Washington and Transferred to USAR Control group For Training in USAAC St Louis Missouri. After Training he left for a Tour of 13 months Fighting In Vietnam. in artillery. Leaving the war On Aug 26th to reach the states With many Honors, On His 21st Birthday to Celebrate with Family and Friends, Rich was a great storyteller he loved to talk. And Friends and family Loved listening.

Rich started working at Carlon Products, and Moved on To Victory White Metal. He truly was a man of all trades. His employers Loved him.

In 1974 Rich Had his first Child from his First Marriage he had a beautiful Daughter Shelby Lynn. In Dec of 74 She shared her Dads Sparkling Blue eyes,,

He latter Divorced and Continued his work and devoted his love, laughter and Kindness and helpful hands to so many Friends and Family,

Rich and Ida’s Story

In 1976 July 29th Rich’s Sister Barb Introduced them at a Friends get together at Ida’s House, where they chatted and spent hours enjoying each others company, That weekend Sat July 30th they happened to see each other at St Monica’s Carnival where their eyes met again.

Rich walked up to Ida with a trophy he had won of a knight in shining armor and handed it to her, and asked her out at that moment He won her Heart

They married almost a year later on July 9th 1977 where they moved into his home in Garfield Hts, Her Family also fell in love with him! He gained 3 brothers and a Sister, and many Nieces and Nephews.

A Little over a year later They Gave birth to their Beautiful Daughter Sabrina in August of 78, She definitely became a Daddy girl who adored her Daddy, He decided to move to a bigger Company to help support his growing Family.

He took a job at Aluminum Smelting in 1979, where he made many new friends and Got along great with all he worked with.

In Sept of 1981 They had a Wonderful Son Richie, Whom they became buddies from That day Forward. When Rich had to work on a Sunday, Ida would dress Richie in Browns PJs and set him in his carrier waiting to watch the game together when he got Home.

That Tradition would carry on for the rest of his life as much as possible, Becoming best friends for life.

During those years Rich Enjoyed his sports with Family, He played Soft Ball with his brother in laws, Football, and Bowling.

Sports was his big pastime with the kids along with His love for Wrestling, WWF and so forth. Where Him and Richie watched many matches together.

He was definitely a good Sport Taking Sabrina with his Brother in law Joey and Screaming Nieces to a concert of NKOTB, A headache he never forgot.

And we cannot forget his Love for Playing Pinochle for many hours with his in-laws. He was truly adored by them.

Rich worked Many hours at Aluminum Smelting for at Least 60 Hours a week, he was a go-getter and never gave up, Family was first. He never said no to anybody in the family that needed a car repair along with his Brother in Law Gus or help fixing something in their House,

In 1993 Aluminum Smelting was bought out by another company, Rich was one of the last Employees to go.

Everyone saw the strength and goodness in Rich, Nobody wanted to let him Go.

During that down Time he fixed up their beginner home to move into a little larger home for the kids. They stood in Garfield Heights so their Children could stay in the same school district. And Moved into a house on 84th St. Rich didn’t settle long not working,

As Luck would have it, His Brother In Law Paul worked at Maple Heights Lanes where he Told the Owner Tom about Rich and that he was Multi Skilled.

Tom said Bring Him in, we could use some help for the day. Well That Day turned into about 10 years. Tom Hired him on It was a family ran Bowling alley,

Where Rich Thought Highly Of The owners and their family and all the people he met there.

They became a second Family to him, Paul and Ida who had the honor of working by Rich’s side for about 8 years together. He ran the Desk Plus more.

Also their Son Richie worked at his side adding to their already great bond, Great friends and Memories were made to last a lifetime.

He Loved, Laughed and Enjoyed himself there, One of His best Jobs, He got along with everyone, And was loved by Many.

In 2002 Rich’s Friend told him about an Opening at Goodrich Aerospace Landing Gear. He applied for the job and was hired.

As much as he wanted to stay at the lanes He knew this was a job he couldn’t turn down.

Again Making friends that Loved him. He was and always will be a worker that inspired many.

Giving up was not in his nature, And working hard was what he loved to do.

In 2010 His hard work paid off and he decided to move into a larger home for his wife, Daughter Sabrina and his 3 Grandchildren. Being more than a grandpa to them, He was an awesome Father figure they adored.

Finally Moving to Parma and Finally getting his dream home, a larger home with a lot of land.

In 2012 The company Sold out Rich again was one of the last employees to be let go, At that point it was time to retire.

Rich overcame so many obstacles in his life, He definitely had Angels watching over him.

And when he went through anything Medical it was not an easy route.

From Shrapnel in Vietnam tearing his stomach open, Torn retinas in his eyes, and so much more. The Biggest Obstacle was a large Aortic Aneurysm in his abdomen, The Largest the Doctors had seen measuring 10cm. He had emergency surgery to in-cage this to save his life.

He was always a Hero in his family’s eyes, But at that Moment he became their Superman and Lived up to that name and Never stop fighting or breaking a promise, Until God Called him home On July 20th 2021.

He lives on in his Family and Friends hearts and always will be. Not only was he a hard worker and a strong fighter,

He had a smile that lit up a room. His laughter was contagious. And His Jokes were the best. He could tell stories of life and keep you enthralled for hours.

The names he would make up. for family and friends were Hilarious, Such a fun Loving and Good Natured person who will never be forgotten.

Rich Hromadka will never be a name that will be forgotten, But a name that will bring a smile to all that knew him and Loved him.

His Favorite Phrases were looking out the window in the morning, and saying Sunshine Blue skies,

And It’s another day in Paradise. And I look better today then I did Yesterday and Tomorrow I’m going to look even better.

And Tomorrow’s going to be a better day!

Rich and Ida Celebrated their 44th Anniversary on July 9th, there wasn’t anything they couldn’t get through together, So Many wonderful memories.

He was adored by Ida, And gave her so much strength and Love. His children and grandchildren adored him.

The Love he gave and got back in return could not be measured. He was beyond Proud of His children and grandchildren

He Lived up to the titles Of a Cherished Husband, Loving Father and Grandfather, Fantastic Son, Brother in Law, Uncle and Friend.

As long as we speak his name, Tell his stories Rich will Live on through all that loves him.

Rich You are Now in Paradise, Enjoying all the foods you love to eat, Enjoying The Sunshine and blue skies. And Looking better than you did yesterday.

The heavens have gained truly one of the most amazing Angel,

Until Together Again Rich, You will be missed more than Words Can Speak

    So sorry for your loss. I worked with him at Goodrich. He was a good guy. Hard working and friendly to everyone. I remember him talking about buying the house in Parma. Best wishes to you and your family.
